Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that midfielder Ryan Mason is out of his side’s trip to West Bromwich Albion this weekend.
The Argentine boss said the England international is ruled out of the game with an ankle injury, which he picked up against Chelsea last time out. But he said it is not thought to be a serious problem and he hopes to have Mason available again soon.
Pochettino confirmed that Nabil Bentaleb and Nacer Chadli are closing in on a return to training, but the implication seemed to be that Saturday’s game will come too soon for them.
Alex Pritchard is definitely ruled out of the game, but Spurs will welcome midfielder Dele Alli back from suspension after he missed the draw with Chelsea last weekend.
Pochettino said: “Ryan Mason is out. He got an ankle injury and we hope it’s not a big issue and won’t take a lot of time.
“Pritchard is out, Bentaleb and Chadli are very close to training with the group. Dele Alli is available after suspension.”
