Liverpool are heading for Wembley after being Stoke City on penalties in last night’s Capital One Cup semi-final.
The Potters won 0-1 on the night at Anfield to level the aggregate score at 1-1, taking the tie to extra time and then the penalty shootout.
Both sides missed one of their first five penalties – Peter Crouch’s effort being saved by Simon Mignolet and Emre Can hitting the post – so the shootout went to sudden death.
Stoke defender Marc Muniesa had his spot-kick saved. Joe Allen stepped up to convert the winning penalty.
Great penalty from this man to win it! pic.twitter.com/y9zVV7cAWT
