West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alex Pritchard on loan until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.

Pritchard, aged 22, is a former England Under-21 international who has previously spent time on loan at Peterborough United, Swindon Town and Brentford. He signed a new four-year deal at White Hart Lane last August.

He has made one Premier League appearance for Spurs this season and previously made one in the 2013/14 campaign.

Given the animosity between the two clubs in the summer transfer window over Spurs’ failed attempts to sign Saido Berahino, Pritchard’s move has immediately stoked speculation that Berahino could be on his way to White Hart Lane after all.

Newcastle United had a £21m cash bid for the 22-year-old striker rejected by the Baggies over the weekend.

But Sky Sports reports that the Baggies are briefing that Berahino will not be leaving before today’s transfer deadline because they believe they will be able to secure a bigger fee for the England Under-21 international in the summer.
