Liverpool are scouting Cologne duo Jonas Hector and Timo Horn ahead of possible summer bids, according to German newspaper Bild.

Matthias Hamann, brother of former Reds star Didi, was spotted in the crowd at Cologne’s recent defeat to Schalke and Bild believes he was on scouting duties.

Hector, aged 25, is a Germany international left-back who has also played at centre-back in recent times. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp looks set to add at least one left-back to his squad this summer, so Hector might fit the bill.

He is under contract until June 2018 and would reportedly cost around €8m.

Horn, aged 22, is a goalkeeper – another position where Klopp is likely to strengthen his options – who has been linked with a move to Anfield for some time.

The Germany Under-21 international, who is reportedly being watched by Arsenal and Manchester United, is said to be keen to play outside the Bundesliga soon.

He has a €9m release clause in a contract running until June 2019.
