Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will launch a raid on his former stomping ground of Serie A to add a quintet of players to the Blues’ team for next season, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Italy boss Conte was announced as the next Chelsea manager yesterday. The former Juventus coach is tipped to sign no fewer than five players from Serie A, including two stars from Juve.

France international midfielder Paul Pogba is the biggest name on the wanted list, but his club-mate Leonardo Bonucci is also a target.

Conte reportedly wants to sign Roma centre-back Antonio Rudiger. The 23-year-old is currently on loan from Stuttgart, but Roma have an option to convert that to a permanent deal for €9m this summer.

His Roma colleague Radja Nainggolan is also touted for a move to Stamford Bridge.

Conte is rumoured to have doubts over Blues striker Diego Costa, so Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain is the man he seemingly wants to lead the line.

The paper also believes Conte will play a three-man defender next season.
