The fit-again England international, aged 24, came off the bench for a six-minute cameo in yesterday’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
It might have been a disappointing results for the team, but Wilshere was clearly delighted from a personal point-of-view. He has been sidelined for all of the campaign to date with a broken leg he suffered in pre-season training.
He has now set his sights on more playing time against Norwich City next weekend.
Wilshere wrote: “Great feeling to be back playing in the Premier League, another step in the right direction! Another week of hard work before next weekend! Thanks for your support Gooners.”
