Former Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa will probably sign for Barcelona this summer, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
The 29-year-old has been rebuilding his career at Ligue 1 side Nice since his time at St James’ Park fizzled out with a disappointing loan spell at Hull City.
He signed an 18-month deal in January 2015 and is out of contract this summer.
Today’s report claims Barca will move to snap up the France international on a free transfer. Indeed, it goes as far as to say the Ben Arfa will most likely be at Camp Nou next season.
Talks over the deal are reportedly very advanced.
The talented playmaker is apparently viewed as ideal cover for the Catalan giants’ all-star frontline of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Ben Arfa started his professional career at Lyon and moved on to Marseille, before joining the Magpies in 2011.
His excellent form for Nice saw him force his way back into the France squad for the first time since 2012.
