Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford is the surprise call-up to the England squad ahead of Euro 2016.

The 18-year-old has been named in a 26-man squad that Roy Hodgson will have to trim by the end of the month.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who made his first start of the season against Aston Villa yesterday, is also included.

And there is a recall for Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend, who had fallen out of the England picture since losing his place in the Tottenham team but is back in contention after some excellent late-season form for the relegated Magpies.

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater keeps his place after impressing when making his debut in the last international break.

Fit-again Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson is included. He joins team-mates Nathaniel Clyne, Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and James Milner.

Tottenham Hotspur’s representatives are Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier and Danny Rose.
