You usually have to go some if you want to get sent off in an international friendly match, and this challenge from Portugal defender Bruno Alves certainly fits the bill.

The veteran centre-back was shown a straight red card in this evening’s Euro 2016 warm-up game at Wembley after a shocking kung-fu kick on England striker Harry Kane’s head.

Spurs star Kane was fortunate that it was the upper of Alves’ boot, rather than the studs, that caught him on the temple.
