The Boston Celtics have a unique opportunity to become the NBA’s first-ever team to end the regular season without experiencing a home-court defeat. After three months of basketball in the 2023-24 NBA season, the Celtics have a 20-0 record while playing at the TD Garden Arena.

This situation motivated FanDuel Sportsbook to offer a regular season special prop bet on the Boston Celtics to go 41-0 at home in the regular season, with odds of +6000 at the time of writing. The Celtics already have the best start at home after 20 wins and rank as the 13th team in NBA history to triumph in 19 straight home games to start a season.

Boston is not undefeated, losing nine games on the road for an overall 32-9 record. The team is producing league-leading stats, and they will likely manage to sustain the winning momentum at home if injuries do not decimate the roster. The current record for most consecutive wins at home in a single season is held by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2015-2016 season with 39 straight home wins.

High Powered Offense and Defense

So far in the season, Boston has won 20 of their 20 home matchups and holds the best record in the NBA. The team's schedule is not getting any easier, with the Nuggets, Clippers, Pacers, and Pelicans visiting TD Garden in upcoming weeks, with a big inter-conference test coming up on February 27 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Celtics score 120.9 points per game, ranking 5th in the NBA. Collectively, this team shoots with 47.8% field goal efficiency, the 11th-best overall percentage in the league, and 38.1% from the three-point line. One statistical category in which this team is number one is rebounding, with 47.5 rebounds per game, and dominating under the boards creates more opportunities to score points. Yet, one curious fact about a team packed with talent is that they do not distribute the ball effectively, averaging 25.5 assists per game, sufficient for ranking 21st overall.

The team has five players averaging double-digit points, with Jayson Tatum leading the pack with 27.1 points per night. Other productive players include Jaylen Brown with 23.3 points, Kristaps Porzingis with 19.1 hoops, Derrick White averages 15.9 points, and Jrue Holiday with 13.3 points per contest. Boston is an offensively oriented team, and they frequently manage to outscore opponents, but they also play excellent defense, ranking 3rd in the league for points allowed at 110.9 per game.

The Celtics are a Favorite In Multiple Categories

Boston is one of the favorites for most future bets. The betting line for winning the Eastern Conference is set at +125 odds, and the Celtics are also the top candidate to win the Larry O'Brien trophy with +290 odds. Winning the Atlantic Division seems like the easiest task, and that's reflected in the -4500 odds.

Staying undefeated at home will not be easy. It's a long season, and after the gauntlet of big teams in January and February, the Bucks, Suns, and Thunder will arrive in March and April to test Boston's dominance. FanDuel offers an attractive special regular season bet, but the odds will probably decline if Boston continues the home winning streak.
