West Brom striker tries to avoid football ban with possible jail-time
Roman Bednar looks to be in it up to his neck after the News of the World ran a story which seemingly caught the Czech striker buying cocaine and cannabis outside his home. The 26-year-old has been suspended by West Brom for allegedly purchasing the drugs hours after West Brom beat Wigan last week.
In his attempts to get out of the mess, Bednar seemingly outed himself as a drug dealer. When confronted by the allegations, he is quoted as saying: “Yeah, so? It wasn’t for me.”
Bednar is alleged to have purchased five grams of cocaine for £400, and £20 of cannabis. NOTW claim Bednar’s girlfriend conducted a similar drug deal a few days later. As if to rub salt in the wounds, the drug dealer who sold the drugs says he bumps up his prices to sometimes double the going rate when Bednar is buying.
