Dropped by letter?

Phil Brown has been banned from talking to Hull starlet Tom Cairney after receiving a letter from the player’s lawyer. The 19-year-old’s legal representative wrote to Brown after the club attempted to open negotiations about extending his contract, which has one year remaining.

Brown said: “Tom has taken advice from an unlicensed and unregistered agent hiding under the umbrella of a solicitor and we are not allowed to talk to their client. So Tom was left out against Arsenal and I could not tell him that he had been dropped!

“Unfortunately, he is taking advice from the wrong people. He should be listening to me, the chairman, the backroom staff and the players.”

OTP is torn on this one. We don’t like to see a young footballer in danger of jeopardising their future by listening to the wrong people, but stopping as many people as possible from talking to Phil Brown does seem like a good idea.
