England Under-21s secured a 3-2 win over Germany Under-21s at the Riverside Stadium yesterday evening.
Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard (who is currently on loan at Derby County), Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse were on the scoresheet for Gareth Southgate’s side.
Lingard, aged 22, scored his first goal at under-21 level to level the score at 1-1. Redmond than equalised at 2-2 before Ward-Prowse ensured England twice came from behind to win the game with his 82nd-minute strike.
