Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores has tipped Tottenham Hotspur for the title.

The Spaniard saw his side beaten 1-0 at White Hart Lane on Saturday, with right-back Kieran Trippier’s goal providing Mauricio Pochettino’s side with all three points.

It took some heroics from former Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes to prevent there being more goals.

Hornets boss Sanchez Flores is convinced that Spurs are potential champions.

The victory – coupled with Manchester City’s defeat to Leicester City took the north London second in the Premier League table, five points behind the table-topping Foxes.

Sanchez Flores seems to be giving them every chance of overturning that deficit in the final 13 games of the season.

According to The Times, he said Spurs “have everything one team needs to try to be champions”. He also described Pochettino’s charges as being “like animals”.

Despite the narrow margin of defeat, Sanchez Flores marvelled at Spurs’ pressing, which he noted had made it “impossible” for his team to attack during the game.
