Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he thinks he will have centre-backs Gabriel and Per Mertesacker available for Sunday’s FA Cup sixth round clash with Watford.
He said Laurent Koscielny is also coming back, but he fears it could be a gamble to use him. Wenger will see if his compatriot is able to train with the squad tomorrow and then take advice from his medical staff.
Gabriel and Mertesacker both had to be substitute during the fifth round replay win over Hull City on Tuesday evening.
Wenger told his press conference today that Gabriel had not been training this week, but could return tomorrow. Mertesacker’s training has not been affected by the cut he suffered in a clash of heads with Nick Powell at the KC Stadium.
