But it could have all been so different is striker Danny Welbeck had not missed this sitter.

The former Manchester United man had already got the Gunners back into contention by pulling a goal back, so Arsene Wenger would probably not have wanted this chance dropping to anyone else in the penalty area in the closing minutes of the game.

But Welbeck fluffed his lines and the Gunners went out.
