Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech will return to training today, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

The former Chelsea star will join his team-mates on the London Colney training ground as he comes back from his recent injury layoff.

But Wenger claims he is still undecided as to whether he will throw Cech straight back into the starting lineup for this weekend’s Premier League game against Watford.

Speaking at his press conference this morning, Wenger said: “Petr Cech will join in training today. I haven’t decide if he will be in the squad tomorrow.”

Cech, aged 33, has been sidelined since suffering a calf injury during the Premier League defeat at home to Swansea City at the start of March. David Ospina was forced to deputise for a string of important matches, including both Champions League games against Barcelona, the FA Cup exit against the Hornets and the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

He has played 26 games for the Gunners to date and could add to that tally at the Emirates on Saturday.
