Manchester United striker Will Keane is set to undergo a medical ahead of a transfer to Hull City, according to Sky Sports.

The Tigers are short of first-team players and Keane will be well known to caretaker boss Mike Phelan, who previously worked as assistant manager to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Academy graduate Keane, aged 23, has made three senior appearances for United, two of which came last season under Louis van Gaal.

He has also spent time on loan with Wigan Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and, in the first-half of last season, Preston North End.

The former England Under-21 international scored twice in 22 games at Deepdale. His progress was slowed by a serious knee ligament injury that kept him out for the entire 2012/13 season.

He came through the ranks at United alongside twin brother Michael, who left United last year and now plays for Burnley.

Keane scored the first goal of Jose Mourinho’s tenure when he netted in a pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic.
