Keane joined United as an 11-year-old in 2007 and came through the ranks with twin brother Michael, who now plays for Burnley. He leaves Old Trafford having made three senior appearances for the Red Devils, two of which came last season under Louis van Gaal.
He is no stranger to Hull caretaker boss Mike Phelan, who previously worked as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant manager at United.
The former England Under-21 international has spent time on loan in the Championship with Wigan Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and, most recently, Preston North End.
Keane has five goals in 52 first-team appearances for all his teams during his career to date.
