Chelsea youngster Kenedy has joined Watford on a season-long loan deal, according to Sky Sports.

The 20-year-old joined the Blues from Brazilian side Fluminense in a £6.3m deal last summer. It seemed likely that he would be sent out on loan, but instead he became a member of the first-team squad under first Jose Mourinho and later Guus Hiddink, who deployed him as either a left winger or left-back.

He finished the 2015/16 season with 20 first-team appearances, including 14 Premier League games, and two goals to his name.

But he had not featured at all in new boss Antonio Conte’s first four games in charge at Stamford Bridge. The Brazil Under-20 international will now join Walter Mazzarri’s squad at Vicarage Road and seek more regular first-team football with the Hornets.

Full name Robert Kenedy Nunes do Nascimento, the Brazilian starlet is named after the late American senator Bobby Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968.
