Manchester United full-backs Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian were absent from training today as the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain in tomorrow’s Champions League last-16 first leg at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer had confirmed in the build-up to last weekend’s win over Fulham at Craven Cottage that Valencia, aged 33, and Darmian, aged 29, had both picked up injuries.

With that in mind, it is positive news for United that they were the only absentees for this morning’s training session.

It means that defender Victor Lindelof has shaken off the injury that forced him to miss the Fulham game and should be available to face PSG.

And it also indicates that all those who played at Craven Cottage came through unscathed.

Even if fit, neither Valencia nor Darmian would have been expected to start on Tuesday evening. Ashley Young is set to play at right-back. He was rested for the 3-0 win over the Cottagers, with Diogo Dalot deputising.
