Well aren’t Lyon the clever clogs eh?
For this season the French club became the first ever team to release a 3D kit, but their third kit for next season goes a little bit childhood retro on us. It is going to have areas that will glow in the dark.
Quite why we are not sure. It could be a technique for evening games, making team mates easier to spot, it might be a scientific technology to confuse opposition players or, as we suspect is the case, it might be a clever but useless marketing ploy. But hey, we like.
The club have released a statement which confirms option three on our list, explaining that the glow in the dark areas on the kit are a commemoration of the city of Lyon being known as the ‘City of Lights’ in France.
